week two: "you could have gotten me weeds and I would have loved them"

week two

i'm so happy week two is o v e r. it was definitely a lot harder to stay awake this week. i had sort of settled into my new schedule from last week but i was finding myself spending a lot of time on my phone, instead of studying and/or catching up/reviewing for classes. i also started hanging out with my friend during my two hour breaks between classes so i was eating (spending money) instead of saving, and studying (i bought a thai iced tea, two bags of chex mix -esque snacks, and panda express). by the end of the week, i had a grand total of thirty dollars left. i had started the week with more than 100! i also was spending a lot of time out of the house, i went on a date with my boyfriend at this fantastic korean fusion restaurant that we love, and we definitely indulged since it was a tuesday -- taco tuesday. i was pretty horrified by my spending habits but feel that that's my only way to get through these long school weeks sometimes! i also didn't touch my DS, which is rare. i love pokemon. i'm super lazy right now and you can definitely tell in the lack of effort that i'm putting in by not capitalizing anything. remember in my last post when i said i wasn't going to complain? i lied, i'm definitely complaining! but i think it's going to level out once the parking stops being annoying and crazy and i stop depending on coffee like it's water, because frankly, it's not water.

but aside from all of that, like i said, i'm hanging out with my friend and we just sort of eat, talk about school, sigh because we're still not done, and then we say goodbye. i really do like the time with my friend though, so it's a nice pick-me-up during my tues/thurs days. some other highlights include being on top of the ferris wheel with my boyfriend, buying my dad some flowers & trail mix before his first day at his new job (the flowers are still alive AND they've bloomed), seeing one of the kids that i drop off sing (really well might i add) and getting a 100% on my homework assignment because i took some damn good notes. i really like the motivation theme that this week brought, but i have definitely needed at least one nap every day this whole week.

my sister turns 19 tomorrow and i'm here and she's there, but i went and mailed her (what! i use the postal system? look at me go) some presents. i hope she likes them, since she asked for almost half of the presents.
i'm closing this post with a quote from my dad, after i handed him the bouquet of flowers. this one made me cry more than once this week:

"You could have given me weeds and I still would have loved them."
